Terms of Service

These terms apply to all Claparonis products: Claparonis for Slack and Claps for iOS. By using either product, you agree to these terms.

1. What We Provide

Claparonis for Slack is a bot that enables peer recognition in Slack workspaces. Claps for iOS is a mobile app that lets you create cartoon avatars and watch them clap. Both products are provided “as is” and are meant to be fun, lighthearted tools.

2. Accounts & Access

Claparonis for Slack is accessed through your Slack workspace—no separate account is needed. Claps for iOS requires no account at all. We do not collect passwords or login credentials for either product.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use either product for harassment, abuse, or to send harmful content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or overload our services.
• Upload photos of other people without their consent for avatar creation.
• Use the products in any way that violates applicable laws.

4. Avatar Creation & AI-Generated Content

Claps for iOS uses OpenAI to generate cartoon avatars from photos you provide. By submitting a photo for avatar creation:

• You confirm you have the right to use that photo (it’s you, or you have the subject’s permission).
• You understand the photo will be processed by OpenAI’s image generation service.
• Generated avatars are stored locally on your device. We do not claim ownership of your avatars.
• We do not guarantee the output quality or likeness of generated avatars.

5. Pricing & Payments

Claps for iOS is free. Claparonis for Slack has a free tier with optional paid tiers. Paid tiers are one-time purchases processed through Buy Me a Coffee. All sales are final. We reserve the right to change pricing, but existing purchases will be honored.

6. Service Availability

We do our best to keep things running, but we’re a small operation. We don’t guarantee 100% uptime and may need to take services down for maintenance. We’ll try to give notice when possible.

7. Limitation of Liability

Claparonis is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our products, including but not limited to lost data, service interruptions, or AI-generated content that doesn’t meet your expectations. Our total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us (if any).

8. Third-Party Services

Our products rely on third-party services including Slack, Apple, Amazon Web Services, and OpenAI. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes to third-party services.

9. Termination

You can stop using Claparonis at any time by uninstalling the Slack app or deleting the iOS app. We may suspend or terminate access to our services if these terms are violated.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
